Admission to MRA is open to all students. Because of space and enrollment limits, if more students apply than there are available spaces, MRA will hold a lottery.  Preference will be given to students from inside the Molalla River School District. Out of district students will be admitted if spaces are available at the end of the lottery period. At the conclusion of the lottery, all applicants will be placed on a list in order of their lottery number.

 

Students already enrolled at MRA are automatically admitted for the following school year, although families are asked to complete an Intent to Return Form in the spring.  Siblings of current students will be admitted to any open slots prior to the lottery.

 

Applications

The application process begins on January 3rd, 2024.  All interested applicants are encouraged to attend one of the open houses held in February/March. Open houses provide participants with the opportunity to meet some of the MRA staff members, a few board members, and a few of the parents. They will learn about MRA, tour our facility, and have the opportunity to ask questions.

 

Applications must be submitted by April 3rd, 2024 by 3:30 P.M. in order to be entered into the annual lottery.  The lottery determines which kindergarten applicants will be offered placement, admissions for open slots in other classrooms, and establishes the waiting list for the upcoming school year. Kindergarten applicants must have turned 5 before September 1st in order to be considered for kindergarten enrollment.

Lottery

The lottery for the 2023-2024 school year will be held on April 6th 2024  in the MRA library and virtually.  All applicant names will be placed by grade level in a corresponding container. Names will be drawn and each will receive a number accordingly.  Students are invited to attend MRA based on the number they get during the public lottery. The lottery will also determine the order of placement on the waiting list. All participants will be notified of the outcome of the public lottery.

Waiting list

MRA will continue to take applications after the lottery and add students to the waiting list in the order in which they are received.  If a classroom space becomes available, the first student on the list will be contacted by phone and by letter. If the placement offer is not accepted within the designated time frame, we will contact the next student on the list. Waitlists do not roll over from year to year, but will begin after each lottery is pulled and remain in place until the next year’s lottery. 

 

Families with older students are encouraged to participate in the lottery process and obtain placement on the waitlist as the list is often shorter and spaces do open in these grade levels.

Tuition 2023-2024 School Year:

Activity Fee:  In order to provide the quality performing arts and physical education programs we have here at MRA, each student in grades K - 8 will be charged a $250.00 activity fee.  This can be paid monthly, quarterly, or in one lump sum.​

Supply Fee: There is a $55 supply fee that will cover all necessary supplies for the school year not including a backpack.

Uniforms:  

MRA's uniform policy was implemented to encourage and promote a sense of unity among our students and families. The value of uniforms includes:

• The removal of competition in student dress.

• An increased focus on learning rather than image.

• Student expression of individuality developed through methods other than dress.

• An image of success among students and staff.
