Composing Rhythmic Variations

Alders chose between three simple melodies: Hot Cross Buns, Twinkle, and Freres Jacques. Each student composed a rhythmic variation of their melody using proper notational conventions and manuscript technique. Special attention was given to the length and direction of the stems, the shape of each notepad and the proper placement of barlines. Alders celebrated the completion of their assignment by performing it for the class. Beautiful work, Alders!
