Our MRA community had fun participating in our first 5K Run of the school year! The Snowflake Scamper had 52 people running together in the sunshine.
We want to give a special "shout out" to Chisty Roberts for giving her time to put together the balloon arch for our event! Thank you so much!
PE Classes
Trillium - Huckleberry Students:
Kicking and Trapping - These students will be focusing on the development of foot-striking skills such as dribbling, passing and kicking a ball. Students learn to receive passes while stationary and moving, and trap and control balls in different ways. These fundamental movement skills provide a developmentally appropriate fist step toward participating in sports. They will end their soccer unit by playing mini soccer games.
Clarkia - Alder - Cedar Students:
Soccer - These students will be practicing, developing and applying skills such as ball-handling dribbling, passing, trapping and shooting: as well as offensive and defensive strategies required for successful game play.
Many of the older students have already played some soccer and are familiar with the basic rules. These students will be using extensions to each lesson to challenge themselves to improve their skills. The students will be playing a variety of modified and small-sided soccer games.

Health Classes
Cedars Students:
The 7th & 8th Graders just finished drawing their Expressionist Self-Portraits in health class. They worked hard to convey an emotion through drawing & painting their features into a self-portrait. They displayed their artwork in the gym for Grandparent's Day.
The students will be starting a new unit of studying eating etiquette and manners in health class next.
