Dear South Huckleberry Families,
We had a very busy week. Students are reading nightly, independently, with partners and in small groups. Some students have caught the “reading bug”, while others will be there soon.
Math is going well in both classes. Periodically, homework will come home for students to do. The sheets will be covering concepts we have recently introduced in class. They are meant to be practice for concepts not yet mastered. Your child may need a small amount of help to complete the assignment. Please send it back when completed. All practice leads towards greater success in math!
The animals are getting ready to migrate. Our classes know why they migrate and what they need when migrating. We are ready to begin the journey. Monarchs are the first animals we will focus on. In the classroom, students have been watching our caterpillars move towards forming a chrysalis. Although ours won’t migrate, we will learn about their lifecycle.
Sharing will again be about butterflies next week. Artwork, books, models and even animals (real or toy) may be shared. It is a really fun time in our classroom.
Important Info:
Please remember to sign-up for conferences. This is an important time for us to share goals for the remainder of the year for your child. Bring your questions!
We need Friday Folders to be emptied each weekend and returned on Monday. Having an organized system to communicate with you is very helpful.
Have a great weekend!
Dainette Harris
